Hello to all of our SlugCrew out there! We hope that you’ve been having a safe and healthy year wherever you are. As you are probably aware, to try and keep safe opportunities to earn points available we’ve opened up SlugCrew reporting to online events that meet our criteria. Online events will continue to remain eligible for SlugCrew points for the forseeable future. While that’s helped some Crew meet their demoing goals, we know that it’s tough to go from in-person demos to online games! From gauging interest to advertising and setting up a time, and then to the actual
Drink/Prize Design Contest Winners! Hello again SlugFans! It’s been a while since we announced this contest, and we know that some entrants have been eagerly awaiting the results. The response was tremendous, with almost 250 entries overall! The first challenge was reading our way through the bulk of the entries…and the second challenge was narrowing down everything we liked into a reasonably-sized group. There was so much creativity and humor on display that we really had to wrestle with our choices! In the end, we managed to agree on one clear winner, and TEN Honorable Mentions! We’re excited to share
Last year we raised over SEVEN TIMES our initial goal of $1000 with your generous support, and we’re eager to see if we can match that again! Extra Life and the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals that it benefits could definitely use the support this year. We’re raising money to fund critical treatments, healthcare services, pediatric medical equipment and charitable care. Next weekend on November 14th, from Noon PST until 4pm PST, we’ll be livestreaming on Twitch to encourage donations to Extra Life! We’ll also be giving away copies of the One Thousand Cranes promo card, and raffling other sweet, to-be-revealed
Strategy Tips! With the launch yesterday of the Kickstarter campaign for Dungeon Decorators, we thought it would be a good idea to share some strategy tips so that you can make sure that your dungeon is the fanciest! If you don’t know how to play, check out the rules first! And if you want to try the game before reading strategy tips, you play the game on Tabletop Simulator or on Tabletopia! 1. Synergize your opening hand. Your opening hand is 3 shape goals and 3 decoration goals, and you must keep any 4 of them. It’s usually best to
Dungeon Decorators Gets the Father Geek Seal of Approval! We are super stoked to announce that Father Geek has reviewed our upcoming release, Dungeon Decorators, and has given it the Father Geek Seal of Approval! This means that the game was enjoyed by all three of their target groups: Child Geeks, Parent Geeks and Gamer Geeks. One of the things that really drew us to the Dungeon Decorators design in the first place was the way that it appeals to casual gamers while also having enough “strategic meat” to appeal to the more hardcore crowd. So, we’re happy that such
Last year, we offered to help fans of ours across the country who were organizing fundraising events for Extra Life and Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. This year, we’re pleased to announce that we’re doing it again, and we hope YOU can take part! For years now, we’ve been supporting streamers who reached out to us for help with their Extra Life events. We’re always pleased to see just how many of our fans are putting in the work to support their favorite charities, and we’re grateful that those fans invite us to be a part of that! This year, we’re
SlugFest Games is thrilled to announce a great game that we’ve been working on for the past year! Dungeon Decorators is a “light euro” tile-drafting strategy game designed by Jeff LaFlam, and it launches on Kickstarter on October 7! In this game, you are a dungeon decorator – basically an interior designer specializing in epic villainous lairs. The strongest villains in the land have hired you to design their evil hideout, so you’d better not disappoint them! Two to four players compete to design the best dungeon. You’ll be drafting tiles to build your dungeon, then scoring points based on
Hello SlugCrew, With new surges in Covid-19 cases underway, we will be extending the allowances for online SlugCrew events into the forseeable future. Making Online Events Please see our previous news post for instructions on how to run a SlugCrew event online! Everything about that post still applies, except for the end date, of course, which has been extended. Make sure you take a look at the provided example and follow it as best you can in your event creation and reporting! SlugCrew Rewards Extended With movement and gatherings restricted for so long, we are also extending the period of
Take your meetings to the Tavern! …Virtually! If you’re in Zoom meetings left and right these days, you’ve probably had the urge to mix up your virtual backgrounds for a bit of brevity. Let us help with some backgrounds of our own! You can be in the warm (but unoccupied) seating area of The Red Dragon Inn… Or, you can be in the busy and foreboding drinking cavern of The Black Dragon Depths! Enjoy!
