Kung Fu Fighting Kickstarter Cancelled

Published on March 26, 2014 by in SlugNews

Hey SlugFans!

Unfortunately we have some sad news for you today, but first, we want to thank you. Thank you for being early adopters and for showing your support for us and this project. We still feel that this game would have been great, and we are very happy to have gotten it out there even if it’s just in a print and play format. The feedback we have received from gamers, retailers, designers, and other campaigners has been awesome, and has provided us with tons of ideas.

That being said, we have decided that the best path for Kung Fu Fighting and SlugFest Games is to end this campaign.

We launched this campaign to gauge how much interest there would be for a revamp of Kung Fu Fighting. We reached out to over 2500 of our followers between Facebook, Twitter, our prior Kickstarter campaigns, and direct contact. We have run ads on Kicktraq, and have been featured in blogs, and on BGG News. But the demand does not seem to be there for this game, at least in the format it is being offered now.

So, we’ll be going back to the drawing board. We are keeping our options open, but for now Kung Fu Fighting will not be coming back. Keep an eye and an ear out, let us know what you think, and stay in touch. If Kung Fu Fighting comes back, we will make sure that you are the first to know!

Happy gaming!

That’s a shame, I Just tried the original version of this game last night and thought it was rather fantastic, even in a two player format. Definitely thought the original release was a bit bland on the colour/appearance wise, but it fit the theme really well. It’s a super fun and super simple card game. Hopefully this will pick up interest in the future to become more viable for a reprint.
